7 Things You Can Do With Q-Tips Besides Cleaning Your Ears

When most people think of Q-Tips or cotton swabs, they probably think of the oh-so-satisfying act of cleaning out your ears with them. It may seem satisfying, but using a Q-Tip that way is not recommended and could actually cause you to lose hearing. Yikes.  So what can you do with Q-Tips aside from that? Well, they make great beauty tools and they're excellent for little touch-ups around the house. They're pretty amazing. Here are seven things you can do with Q-Tips besides cleaning your ears:

1. Use a Q-Tip for a quick paint touch-up

For tiny scuffs and marks that don't quite require a paintbrush, use a Q-Tip for easy painting.

2. Use a Q-Tip to add some glam to your manicure

Apply nail jewels to your manicure using a precision tip Q-Tip for a smudge-free manicure.

3. Use a Q-Tip to clean the crevices of your keyboard

The small tip of the Q-Tip is perfect for getting into those hard-to-reach areas.

4. Use Q-Tips and coffee grounds to refinish furniture scratches

5. Use vodka and a Q-Tip to remove stains on fondant

You know that feeling when you've ruined your best friend's wedding cake? This simple trick will make sure that never happens again. Just dab a Q-Tip in vodka and wipe.

6. Use Q-Tips as makeshift collar stays

If your collar is all bent out of shape, insert a Q-Tip to keep it looking crisp.

7. Use Q-Tips to apply eye make-up when you've lost your brush
Q-Tips are a great stand-in for make-up brushes when you're in a pinch. They're also great for removing make-up at the end of the night.
