Netflix's New Horror Movie Is So Terrifying, People Say They Can't Finish It

Netflix's New Horror Movie Is So Terrifying, People Say They Can't Finish It

This month, Netflix unleashed a new horror movie that viewers say is so terrifying, they're unable to watch the entire film.
The movie (called Veronica) comes from Spanish director Paco Plaza, who's made a career out of absolutely horrifying features.
And based on Twitter's response, it looks like Plaza has done it again.

So, what's so scary about Veronica? For one, it's based on a true story.

The film is based on an unsolved case from Madrid in 1992. Around that time, a young girl named Estefania Gutierrez Lazaro mysteriously died after using a Ouija board.
According to reports, Estefania had attempted a seance while at school to call upon her ex-boyfriend, who had died in a motorcycle accident.

When a teacher interrupted the seance, Estefania's group of friends reported seeing smoke enter Estefania's nose and mouth.

According to the story, Estefania suffered seizures and hallucinations for the next six months. Her parents also reported her saying she had seen "evil" shadows in her room.
Estefania later died in the hospital, the cause unknown.
A year after her death, Estefania's parents claimed their house was haunted. Their reports were even verified by the police.

And now, people are unable to finish Paco Plaza's recreation, Veronica.

The movie was recently added to Netflix's roster with Spanish subtitles.
But don't let the subtitles scare you off — people are saying the film is terrifying regardless of language.

In fact, some people barely got five minutes into the film before they had to turn it off.

However, Veronica isn't the only horror movie on Netflix that people haven't been able to finish.
Recently, Netflix released a list of 10 scary movies that viewers are the least likely to complete.

Cabin Fever (2002) is one of those films.

Not to be confused with the 2016 remake, Cabin Fever follows a group of college students who go on a woodland vacation, only to be confronted with a skin infection that's plaguing the surrounding area

Carnage Park also made the list.

If you haven't seen this movie, it's about a psychotic sniper who torments a bank thief and his hostage in the middle of the California desert.

Of course, The Conjuring is also on Netflix's list of horror movies that viewers are unable to finish.

The Conjuring is undoubtedly one of the scariest movies made in recent years.
Other movies on the list include México BárbaroPiranhaRawTeethThe Human Centipede 2: Full SequenceThe Void, and Jeruzalem.

And it looks like Veronica might join that list as well.

At least, that's if people continue to be unable to complete the film.
We know what we'll be watching (or attempting to watch) this weekend!
