Alia Bhatt is one such talented kid, with a superlatively creative gene pool, granted to take her places. With just two films in her kitty, she has made a strong impression on her fans and the critics. Her naïve quality and the freshness she brings to the character is very infectious. 1. Parenting
Alia Bhatt was born on 15th March, 1993 in Mumbai to Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan. Both parents are well known personalities of the movie making industry. Mahesh Bhatt needs no introduction he is one of the most successful producer, directors and screen writers of this century. Soni has acted in many movies and serials.

2. Education

Alia Bhatt successfully completed her high school from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. Continuing her education is not on her agenda anymore. In school she was an average student, but took active part in all extracurricular activities.

3. Apart from acting
Alia makes paintings with charcoal to relax in her free time. She is a pro at handball and had enrolled in Shiamak Davars dancing school at 4.

4. Debut
Alia Bhatt was first seen as a child artist in Sangharsh in 1999. She played the younger Preity Zinta in the movie.

5. Her siblings
Alia Bhatt has a younger sister Shaheen and their father has brought them up as atheists. Her lineage is very interesting as she is half Kashmiri and German on her mother’s side and Gujrati from her dad’s side. Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt are her step siblings.

6. A family of artists
Emraan Hashmi and Mohit Suri are her first cousins and Mukesh Bhatt is her uncle

7. The first breakthrough
Alia never wanted to be launched by her father in her first movie. She actually gave the audition for SOTY, like 500 other odd girls. She was selected by Karan Johar, on the pre condition that she needs to lose weight for the character in the movie.

8. Cutting pounds
Alia lost 16 kgs from 67 kgs in just three months of auditioning.

9.  An ardent foodie
She is very fond of eating French Fries and relishes them at any time of the day.

10. On Twitter
Alia has a twitter handle, but does not tweet much. She mostly follows the activities of her family members.

11. Her beauty mantra
Alia cherishes her beauty with sleep and gets cranky when does not get it. She loves to go out and party with her friends.

12. Resemblance with Anaida
Alia has an uncanny resemblance to Anaida, the yester year pop sensation.

13. Fond of beverages
She is very fond of cold beverages, rather than hot ones.

14. Loves yogurt
She has a major craving for dahi or yogurt and orders a portion even when she is eating Italian and Mexican food. She also encourages all to try it passionately.

15. SOTY
Her first movie was Student of The Year, a major hit and a runaway success. The movie made whopping 700 million rupees domestically. Her performance got mixed reviews, with a few critics comparing it to Kareena Kapoors debut.

16. The Highway gal!
Her second movie was Highway, released in 2014, and it got everybody’s head turning and critics finally sat up to look at her closely.  She played the character of a rich brat who gets infected by Stockholm syndrome, while in the hold of a kidnapper.

17. The impression
Her performance was uninhibited and had an undefined trait to it that demanded the movie goers to invest emotionally in her disposition.

18. One girl in 2 States
She will next share the screen with Arjun Kapoor, in the movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel 2 States. She plays a Tamil girl in the movie and actually learnt the language for it.

19. Yet another role
In 2014 you can look forward to another of Karan Johar production called Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniaa, alongside SOTY co star Varun Dhawan.

20. Supporting PETA
Besides movies she also supports PETA, and shot a special ad for them, in support of cats and homeless animals.
